Fishing Rules

  1. Fishing is strictly by pre-booked permit only and all anglers must be in possession of a valid EA fishing license. 

  2. Anglers fish at their own risk. Bawsey Ltd accept no responsibility for injury to anglers or theft/damage to anglers’ property.

  3. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times. 

  4. A maximum of 2 rods per angler and rods must not be left unattended at any time or for any reason. 

  5. An appropriate size landing net and unhooking mat must be used.  

  6. Braided main lines or shock leaders are banned. 

  7. Micro-barb hooks only.

  8. The use of multi-hook fishing rigs is strictly forbidden. 

  9. All particle baits, apart from sweet corn, hemp, and carp pellets are banned, no trout pellets, peas, beans, nuts or maize. 

  10. No fish to be retained in a keepnet/carp sack at any time, all fish to be returned to the water immediately after capture and photos. 

  11. Floating baits are permitted if care is taken not to endanger wildlife. 

  12. The use of bait boats or any similar device is banned. 

  13. When returning fish to the water do not carry any fish without the use of a sling, zipped unhooking mat or landing net. 

  14. Anyone found killing fish and/or removing fish will be prosecuted and face a lifetime ban. 

  15. Strictly no fires and the use of BBQ’s is banned. 

  16. The use of crayfish traps of any kind is not permitted.

  17. The crayfish present in our lakes are a non-native species. If any are caught by conventional fishing methods they should NOT be returned to the water.

  18. Swimming and paddling are strictly prohibited. Please DO NOT ENTER THE WATER. 

  19. Take all litter, discarded line and unused bait home or place in the waste bins provided.  

  20. We will not tolerate anti-social, abusive behaviour, excessive consumption of alcohol or loud music.

  21. Infringement of the rules will result in you being asked to leave the fishery, without a refund, and you may face a ban.

  22. We reserve the right to conduct a spot check of anglers gear to ensure compliance with the fishing rules.

  23. We reserve the right to remove any angler/person without prior notice.
